Mitch Cotter
NFB-2 Noise Filter Buffer
+ Master Power Supply

"Mitch Cotter NFB-2 Noise Filter Buffer is unquestionably the most sophisticated band pass device found in audio today.

Not only does this device prohibit "out-of-band" signals from altering and ruining the "in-band" music we want to hear and enjoy, but it does this without time dispersion. That is, musical events in time remain unaltered. The electrical signal passing through the filter is crisply focused, sharply defined and completely preserved.

But why worry about "out-of-band" signals.
And what are they anyway?

Out of band information lies outside what is considered to be the normal frequency range of human hearing. That is, beyond 20kHz on the high end and below about 20Hz in the deep bass. The former is called the ultra-sonic range and the latter, sub-sonic. By themselves, for the most part, they are harmless. On the other hand, they most-often do have a deleterious effect on the electronic elements in the sound reproduction chain, causing them to misbehave and severely compromise their performance in the normal hearing range. Even the loudspeaker system clearly demonstrates undue stress in the presence of such ultra/sub-sonic signals.

Cotter NFB-2 Noise Filter Buffer stops these undesirable signals completely and does this without affecting the signal purity in the normal listening range. In fact, amplifiers and loudspeakers, relieved of reproducing these unwanted signals, automatically become more stable and have greater headroom, clarity and ease.

Cotter NFB-2 Noise Filter Buffer encompasses the kind of engineering and scientific investigation heretofore unknown in audio, but although we are proud of the results, we hate to build it. This is because the NFB-2 Is incredibly complex and demanding to manufacture, and because any well designed amplifier now in existence should have this capability as part of its overall profile. And, quite frankly, we'd rather address our talents to other real problems that exist in audio today.

It is pure folly to compare the Cotter NFB-2 to the conventional subsonic and ultrasonic filters currently found on preamplifiers, receivers and amplifiers today. These filters are time dispersive (they affect the time relationships of audio events) and are ineffectual too."

"Mitch Cotter PW-2 Master Power Supply was specifically designed to mate perfectly with all Cotter active components. That is, it maintains an extremely stif, well-regulated voltage output, and, at the same time, has the necessary current reserve to permit all the Cotter devices to operate together flawlessly.

Electronic' devices such as those manufactured by the MA Cotter Company are extremely demanding from an energy-draw standpoint. Incorrect or inappropriate power with poor stability can seriously injure the performance of these exacting components. It is for this reason that the PW-2 was developed.

Cotter PW-2 Master Power Supply has been painstakingly designed to meet the ultra-critical demands of our system components. It is only with the PW-2 that we guarantee that our devices will meet their performance specifications. The use of any other power supply will seriously jeopardize both the performance and the safety of the Cotter modules."
